The power plant includes fourteen (14) medium speed Caterpillar Motoren reciprocating engines, model 16CM32C, fired on Heavy Fuel Oil. The engine-driven alternators generate electricity at eleven (11) kV for step-up and onward delivery to the local transmission system. The power plant also utilizes heat recovery boilers, as well as state-of-the art plant auxiliary equipment, and electrical / control systems usually installed in such a facility.
